Child safety standards
Winkly is for adults. Here’s how we keep children off it and how to report a concern.
Last updated October 25, 2026
Our standard
Winkly has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a child is banned on Winkly, and we act on it as soon as we find it.
Winkly is for adults only
- Every member must be 18 or older.
- Members give their date of birth when they sign up, and Winkly doesn’t let anyone younger than 18 create a profile.
- Members can verify their profile with a photo that our team reviews.
- If we have reason to believe a member is under 18, we remove the account.
What’s prohibited
- Sharing, requesting or linking to sexual images or videos of anyone under 18, including drawn or AI-generated material.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a child, or with an adult to reach a child, for sexual purposes.
- Sexual or suggestive content involving anyone under 18.
- Sextortion, or any attempt to buy, sell or trade access to children.
- Anyone under 18 using Winkly.
How we enforce it
- Members can report any profile or chat in the app, with a dedicated “underage” category. Reports are reviewed by our team, and reports about children are dealt with first.
- When we find CSAE or CSAM, we remove it, permanently ban the accounts involved, and keep the evidence securely for the authorities.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant law enforcement authorities, and we cooperate with their investigations.
- We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, wherever Winkly is available.
Report a concern
- In the app: open the profile or chat, tap report, and choose the underage category.
- By email: write to [email protected]. You don’t need a Winkly account.
- Outside Winkly: you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline or your local police.
If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.
